How Our Journey Began

What?

If you haven’t already heard … the Doyle Family is heading towards a new adventure, one that is exciting, yet a bit scary. God has been working in our lives & has put a passion in our hearts to serve him & care for the needy around the world. We feel God is calling our family into full-time missions & we are looking into taking a missions training course through Youth With A Mission (YWAM). YWAM is a non-denominational missions training facility that has locations worldwide. YWAM is dedicated to equipping the body of Christ to fulfill His Great Commission. They instruct men & women in the ways of God & give them practical tools to help them serve cross-culturally.

Why?

It all began in 2008 when we took a missions trip with our church (Chapel Pointe) to Kingston, Jamaica. We spent the week with a group of orphans at the Nest Children’s Home. We have made lasting friendships with a few of the teens & have gone back to visit with them a few times since our original trip. Our lives have been forever changed since that missions trip as we came home with a passion for orphans & a desire to use our lives in the mission field. Our goal is to use our gifts & passions to influence people, build relationships, & direct others to Christ.

Where?

YWAM has several training bases throughout the world. We are looking to take our training at one of the six bases within the USA that offers the Crossroads Discipleship Training Program (CDTS). This course is geared towards families or singles over the age of 30 entering the mission field. It is approximately 5 months long & includes 2 phases. The first phase is 3 months which will be spent in lecture (classroom setting) & the second phase is 2 months which will be hands on serving in an overseas location. We are currently praying that the Lord will give us wisdom on choosing the best base for our family. We would love to eventually serve in Jamaica after our training, but we are praying for the Lord to give us clarity & direction when the time comes.

How?

Want to know how you can help? We are looking for people to partner with us in various areas as we begin this journey. We need a strong group of prayer warriors who will diligently pray for our family & our needs. We need the encouragement of friends and family to help us stay focused & upbeat as this can be a long process. We are also looking for financial partners who will help assist our family either with a one time gift or giving on a monthly basis. The first phase of our journey will cost approximately $18,000 (this covers the lecture phase as well as the outreach phase). Your support in one or more of these areas would be greatly appreciated.
